A star map print is a snapshot of the sky at one exact moment. The personal weight comes from getting the time, the place and the words right — not from the print itself. Four notes before you order.
The sky changes faster than you think
Constellations sweep across the visible sky over the course of a night — the pattern at 9pm and the pattern at midnight on the same date are visibly different. We default the time to 9pm local (a sensible evening-event baseline), but the field is editable. If you remember the actual hour, type it in.
Latitude and longitude matter less than time does. The sky over Marina Bay and the sky over Changi at the same moment look essentially identical to the eye — same constellations, same arrangement. You do not need GPS-perfect coordinates; a named city resolves to about ±2 km, which is more than precise enough.
The three layouts answer different briefs
Love in the Stars is the classic single-sky layout — one disc, names stacked underneath, optional coordinates and date line. Best for the one moment that defines a relationship.
Three Chapters of Us is landscape with three skies side-by-side. Met / engaged / married is the obvious template, but people also use it for the birth nights of three children or three trips that mattered. Each disc carries its own date, location and caption.
Sketch of Us pairs a single sky with a photo zone. The sky and the photograph carry equal weight — drag and pinch inside the photo box to crop, then add a tagline underneath.
Words pair the sky to the person
The tagline — italic, under the location — is where the personalisation lands. "Where it began" reads harder than "Singapore, March 14". The field accepts line breaks, so you can split it across two lines for vows or a short poem.
Each text field has its own font dropdown right beside it. Pair a strong display serif (Playfair Display, Fraunces, Cormorant) for the names with a calmer sans (Inter, Archivo, Montserrat) for the smaller location and date lines. Do not pick two display fonts — they fight each other on the print.
Frame, finish, and how it ships
Four frame finishes: black, white, wood and metallic gold. Wood reads warmest with names in a serif; gold suits the foil-style lines; black is the safest neutral; white pairs with minimalist sans-serif type.
